It depends.
High in carbohydrates, noodles are long strings or strips made with ingredients such as wheat, rice, egg, or unleavened dough depending on its country of origin. From Italian pasta to Japanese udon, noodles can be cooked in boiling water, pan-fried, or deep-fried and served with toppings or combined with sauce or soup.
Noodles can be occasionally fed to your dog in limited amounts as long as they are fully cooked and unflavoured. When eaten, raw noodles may cause injury to your dog’s mouth, throat, esophagus, and/or intestines.
Meanwhile, seasoned noodles can cause stomach upset and other adverse reactions depending on the ingredients added. Salt, garlic, onion, lime, and chili are just a few examples of flavourings that are bad for dogs. Seasoning packets from instant ramen should also be avoided at all times.
How to feed noodles to your dog: Boil noodles according to package instructions. Do not add salt and other seasonings. Let it cool before serving.
Get your veterinarian’s go signal before giving plain noodles to your dog. When feeding him for the first time, give him one short piece of noodle, and see how he reacts to it over the next 24 hours. Some dogs may be allergic to flour, wheat, and eggs, so watch for an allergic reaction in the form of itching, diarrhea, vomiting, and constant pawing of ears. Contact your vet immediately if it happens.
You can increase the amount and the frequency of noodle intake depending on your vet’s recommendation. Do not go over the recommended portions since this may cause weight gain and other health problems.

In summary: Dogs can eat noodles as long as they are not allergic to them. However, they should not be given plainly cooked noodles all the time as these do not provide the essential nutrients they need. Instead of noodles, other vegetables and fruits may be better treats to give your dog. Explore our “can dogs eat” category to discover which human foods your pet dog can safely consume.
