Is Seraphine Botanicals Cruelty Free?

Yes, Seraphine Botanicals is cruelty free.

Made in the USA, Seraphine Botanicals crafts botanically infused skin care and colour cosmetics using sustainably and responsibly sourced ingredients. Their collection ranges from makeup (eyes, cheeks, lips, and face) to lip, skin, and hair care. They are a small batch manufacturer that does not produce over 300 pieces of any product at a time to ensure freshness.

On their About Us page, the American brand reveals that their formulations do not contain any of the following:

  • Animal or insect by-products
  • Parabens
  • Harsh chemicals, dyes, or non-food grade fragrances
  • Phthalates
  • Triclosan
  • Petrolatum
  • Bismuth oxychloride
  • Nanoparticles
  • Unsustainable mica

More importantly, Seraphine Botanicals claims that their products are all vegan and cruelty free, which has been certified by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Complying with the standards of PETA’s global Beauty Without Bunnies program, Seraphine Botanicals has provided documentation to prove that their products, formulations, and ingredients are never tested on animals. This promise also extends to their suppliers as the brand explains, “We are completely against any form of animal testing and work only with reliable suppliers (mostly family-run operations) who are verified to support this same cause.”

Seraphine Botanicals uses PETA’s “cruelty free and vegan” logo on its packaging to show its animal-friendly commitment to customers. As a vegan brand, they do not use animal-derived ingredients such as honey, carmine, and beeswax. They also do not sell their products in China, which is a country known for conducting mandatory cosmetic tests on animals.
