Yes, BAR NONE is cruelty free.
A reimagined bathroom staple, BAR NONE consists of hydrating shampoos and conditioners in bar format. These affordable and zero-waste cleansers are made with nourishing ingredients that can work for all hair types. Aside from bars, the brand also sells biodegradable hair accessories and 400ml liquid hair cleansers.
On their FAQs page, BAR NONE answers the following questions related to animal welfare:
“Do you test on animals?
No. We test on willing humans only—mainly our friends and family.
I’m vegan, can I use your product?
Absolutely. All our products are PETA certified and we’re proud to be 100% vegan and cruelty free.”
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) Beauty Without Bunnies program states that BAR NONE is a “company [that] does NOT test on animals.” In addition, “all products are vegan.” Plus, BAR NONE “features the PETA Global Beauty Without Bunnies Logo” on its packaging.
Following PETA’s standards, BAR NONE is considered cruelty free because they do not conduct, commission, pay for, or allow any tests on animals for their ingredients, formulations, or finished products. This condition applies to their suppliers, and must be followed anywhere in the world. Meanwhile, as a certified vegan brand, BAR NONE also commits to sourcing ingredients that are not taken from animals or their by-products. Examples of animal-derived ingredients include honey, beeswax, and carmine. (PETA goes into detail about animal-derived ingredients used in beauty products on this list.)
