About the shelter
Located in Sydney, Forever Home Pet Rescue Inc is a registered not-for-profit and responsible “no kill” rescue charity organisation. It dedicates itself to animal welfare and the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animal companions that have been abandoned, neglected, or rendered homeless through no fault of their own from local council pounds and shelters. Pets, mostly cats, that have come into the shelter’s care are placed in loving foster homes where they stay until they find their permanent home.
Founded in 1 December 2014, Forever Home Pet Rescue Inc offers its adopters ongoing education, advice, and support. All pets that come into the rescue complete a mandatory quarantine period and complete all veterinary work. All pets are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for worms and fleas by the time they are ready for adoption. Meanwhile, animals in need of extensive veterinary work receive this whilst in the organisation’s care.
Profiles of the adoptable animals are available on the organisation’s Adoption Page as well as its Pet Rescue page. Interested parties are asked to contact the person in charge of the animal to have a chat and organise a “meet and greet” with the animal. Forever Home Pet Rescue Inc does its best to ensure that each pet is properly matched to a new family. Should the process work out and all parties decide to go ahead with the adoption, potential adopters are required to complete all necessary documentation.
As the animal welfare organisation relies on its network of volunteers, they are always searching for new foster carers who can provide support for a cat in need. Foster caring is an integral part of Forever Home Pet Rescue Inc’s work, and is a great way to assist them if you cannot provide a forever home for these animals. As a foster carer, you provide a safe indoor environment, food, litter, transportation to the vet, socialisation, and lots of love. All veterinary costs of fostered cats or kittens are covered by the organisation.
Unlike some rescue groups, foster carers for Forever Home Pet Rescue Inc are able to assist in the adoption process and are given the ability to choose the most suitable adopter for the fostered animal. To be a foster carer, experience is not necessary as ongoing support, education, and training is provided. They ask that potential foster carers be team players and have an innate love for animals.
- Caring for animals in need, Forever Home Pet Rescue Inc aims to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned, neglected, and homeless pets from local pounds and shelters, giving these animals a second chance at a new life with loving families.
