About the shelter
Best Friends Pet Rescue (BFPR) Inc. is a non-profit animal rescue organisation that aims to save the lives of treatable and healthy cats and dogs from pounds and shelters.
With more than 2,044 successful adoptions since its establishment, BFPR helped numerous animals receive a second chance at life by providing them with new loving homes. While the organisation already has more than 70 volunteers, they are still looking for more people to advertise, train, and walk these cats and dogs. The charity is also supported and sponsored by veterinary groups including Lake Road Vet (Kooringal, NSW), The Gables Veterinary Group (Tuggeranong, ACT and Queanbeyan, NSW), and Clinton Street Vet (Goulburn, NSW).
BFPR accepts donations and 100% of these proceeds are used for veterinary treatments, transport costs, and pound fees for the animals. While the charity wants everyone to get involved in saving the lives of these endangered animals, they have a strict process for membership registration. However, this is only to make sure that the dogs and cats find a place to stay with able and willing foster owners.
Publicising the problem of homeless pets, BFPR presents solutions in the form of services and programs needed to be eradicate the problem. It also enters into funding arrangements with the authorities to achieve these goals. The charity also arranges adoption events, fundraisers, and training seminars to support these objectives.
Mission

- It also aims to work with other rescue organisations to assist in saving the lives of these animals.
