About the shelter
Animal Rescue Qld (ARQ) is dedicated to saving the lives of animals throughout the South East Queensland area. Their whole team works hard to save abandoned and neglected dogs, take care of them, and find them loving families that will cherish and provide for them forever.
The group solely relies on the help and generosity of foster carers, as well as the generous cash and supply donations given by the public. They also accept dogs that are brought to them, some of which are from local shelters that cannot continue to provide for the needs of these poor pooches.
ARQ receives an abundance of help from foster carers. These people open their homes and hearts to help the animals recover from their previous situations. With their help, ARQ is able to have a deeper understanding of the animals they have rescued. This helps them find the best families that these animals will soon live and grow old with. ARQ always welcomes people who want to be foster carers for their rescued fur babies.
Pet adoption is also a big component of ARQ. The applicants are screened carefully and potential candidates are given the chance to meet and bond with the animal. To ensure that each adoption works to the benefit of both parties, ARQ has a 14-day settling in policy that lets the adopter bring home the pet for two weeks and see how it goes. If it doesn’t work out, the animal can be returned with a full refund of the adoption fee.
Since 2011, ARQ has been working with two supportive institutions: Hairy Bakers for the animals’ regular grooming, and Grange Vet Surgery for their health and medical needs. Together with these teams, they form a group that’s passionate about caring for rescue animals.
