Is Urban Veda Cruelty Free?

Is Urban Veda Cruelty Free?

Yes, Urban Veda is cruelty free.

Urban Veda is a natural skin care brand that is inspired by India’s Vedic wisdom. It combines the holistic and therapeutic properties of plants with modern technology to develop its cruelty free collection. Using more than 200 botanical extracts across four skincare ranges, Urban Veda states that their products are packed with active ingredients, multi-vitamins, free radical-fighting antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and phytonutrients. These formulas all help by purifying, soothing, reviving, or adding radiance to the skin.

On their About page, Urban Veda shares their commitment to animals. “We don’t test on Animals. All of our products are certified Vegan and Cruelty Free by PETA, the Leaping Bunny, and the Vegetarian Society. We have never and will never use animal byproducts in any of our skincare formulations.”

PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has organised a searchable online list for their Beauty Without Bunnies program. This includes Urban Veda, which is recognised as a company that is both cruelty free and vegan as it meets the two conditions set by PETA:

“Global animal test-free recognizes companies and brands that have verified that they and their suppliers do not conduct, commission, pay for, or allow any tests on animals for their ingredients, formulations, or finished products anywhere in the world and that they will never do so in the future.

Global animal test-free and vegan recognizes companies and brands that meet the same requirements and whose entire product line is free of animal-derived ingredients. These companies are truly cruelty-free.”
