Funding their future

Just over 1 year ago a tiny piglet, removed too soon from her Mum, found her way to the Contented Pig Inn. Although, she was destined to end up on a plate, she found a sanctuary and safety in the team at Australia’s only dedicated pig rescue.

Over the past 2 weeks, the team noticed Mouse had anxiety and fear at night, thinking this was due to her loss of vision or impacted eyesight, and then, on Tuesday, Mousey had a seizure. They thought they would lose her. As a result Mouse was rushed, in a medical emergency to Gatton University. She was admitted on Wednesday and is still there now.

Mouse had a very extensive consultation with the lovely pig vet Dr Joe and his team at Gatton University. It was actually amazing to listen and watch as they went through everything that could be happening with Mouse. She was the perfect patient, and beyond her current neurological issue, she is in great shape 🩷

The diagnosis is a lesion on her brain. Yesterday on 25th June, they will be putting her under general anaesthetic to complete blood tests, and then most likely, the CT scan. The scan will show how progressive the lesion is.

This treatment is expected to cost a minimum of $5000, we are desperately trying to raise the funds to cover this care, so far we are only half way there. The team at this amazing rescue need your help!If you can donate any amount to help Mouse’s care, this donation is tax deductible. Donations can be made via:
