Yes, Sanctum is cruelty free.
Sanctum was founded in 1992 by Greg and Jicky Milham, who got inspired after moving to Byron Bay, Australia. With a background of running a manufacture and fill business, they saw how brands would produce products packed with harmful chemicals. As such, they were determined to create skin, body, and hair care products for the family (men and babies included!) truly made from natural and active sources.
On their website, Sanctum states, “Sanctum organic products are 100% naturally derived and draw on the combined power of:
1 – Certified Organic raw materials
2 – Medicinal grade, therapeutic Herbal and Plant extracts
3 – Cosmeceutical levels of active Vitamins
4 – Soothing Essential Oils
5 – A unique, proprietary natural preservative system which blends herbal extracts fortified with natural antioxidants and vitamins
6 – Sanctum is a member of Choose Cruelty Free (CCF)—an independent Australian organisation that accredits products NOT tested on animals.
7 – Sanctum is also certified with the UK-based Vegan Society and proudly display[s] their logo.”
As a cruelty free brand, they do not test their ingredients, formulations, and products on animals. As a vegan brand, they do not use ingredients derived from animals or animal byproducts.
