Yes, Meow Meow Tweet is cruelty free.
Meow Meow Tweet was created in 2009 by Jeff Kurosaki and Tara Pelletier. Initially receiving rave reviews from friends and family for their handmade soaps, the pair soon developed their all-natural vegan apothecary. Using raw, unrefined plant oils and butters as well as steam-distilled and cold-pressed essential oils, Meow Meow Tweet currently manufactures products for the hair, body, face, and pits.
Written on their “Our Values” page, Meow Meow Tweet reveals, “The only animals you’ll find in our products are the drawings on our packaging. Founded by two vegans and named for our two cats and our bird, we are forever cruelty free, Leaping Bunny-certified and palm-oil free. Our vegan standard is not just about our ingredients—it extends to how we source, too. We take a whole picture approach to veganism, so we don’t source materials that harm the habitats or food sources of animals (human animals, too).”
Aside from their Leaping Bunny certification, the brand is also included in People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) Beauty Without Bunnies list. As a cruelty-free and vegan brand, PETA has verified that the American company does not test on animals at any point and anywhere in the world. Moreover, it only uses certified organic, non-GMO ingredients.
