Is Function of Beauty Cruelty Free?

Yes, Function of Beauty is cruelty free.

Launched in 2015, Function of Beauty produces 100% customisable beauty products from their facility in Pennsylvania, USA. The brand was developed by co-founders Josh, Zahir, and Hien, who wanted to give consumers the option to choose what goes into the products they use for their hair, skin, and body. The ingredients they use have passed European Union safe cosmetic regulations. Moreover, these ingredients as well as the formulations and products they make are never tested on animals.

On their Our Philosophy page, they reveal, “At Function of Beauty, we really, really love our animals. So much so, in fact, that we often have a few four-legged friends (and one bird) roaming around our office at any given time, and yes, it’s every bit as wonderful as you’d imagine it is. When you’re animal lovers like us though, it isn’t enough to just have a pet-friendly office, which is why we took the steps a long time ago to make sure all of our products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

As members of PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program, this means that we not only do not use any animal ingredients or animal by-products in our formulas, but we also do not test on animals at any stage of product development. The result is effective, high-quality beauty products that you can feel good about using.”

Additionally, they share more details on their FAQs page. “As a company, we are committed to creating products that use only safe, natural ingredients, wherever possible, and are continuously seeking new and environmentally-friendly ingredients. All of our products are free of sulfates, parabens, mineral oils, phthalates, and gluten, among many other ingredients.”
