Is CoverGirl Cruelty Free?

Is CoverGirl Cruelty Free?

The short answer: Yes, CoverGirl is cruelty free!

The long answer: An affordable cosmetic brand which originated from Maryland, USA, CoverGirl was created by the Noxzema Chemical Company in 1961. It was acquired by Procter & Gamble in 1989, followed by American multinational beauty company, Coty, Inc., in 2016. In 2018, Coty, Inc. put an end to CoverGirl being sold in China. Hence, their products are no longer being tested on animals to comply with the country’s importation laws.

Aside from pulling out their products in China, CoverGirl has taken their cruelty-free stance a step further by gaining The Leaping Bunny certification. This authentication was given by Cruelty Free Internationals, an internationally recognised certification for cosmetics, personal care, and household product brands that are not tested on animals. CoverGirl’s website reveals, “To get certified, we underwent a rigorous independent audit of our global supply chain from start to finish, ensuring that ALL of our products are free from animal testing.”
