Yes, Yard Skincare is cruelty free.
Yard Skincare is an Australian beauty brand that manufactures uncomplicated products for the body, face, lips, and home. From vitamin-enriched lip bloss (their version of the gloss) to aluminium-free deodorant, Yard offers “a collection of convenient, multi-purpose, innovatively clean, and earth-conscious products that are inspired by the Australian lifestyle.” It uses rare native and global botanicals, plant oils, and pure essential oils to develop sustainable products made by hand on Peramangk and Kaurna Country (Adelaide Hills) and on Gubbi Gubbi Country (Sunshine Coast).
On their homepage, Yard Skincare shares their commitment to being kind to animals and the environment by being proudly natural, vegan, and cruelty-free. They reveal, “Be a part of our earth-conscious evolution: We’re taking action so that our products will have less of an impact on the environment [and] animals. We have eliminated boxes, we have refill systems, and we use recycled materials where possible. We also believe animals are made to be loved, not tested on.” In addition, their FAQs page states, “No animal-derived ingredients (such as beeswax, honey, or lanolin) are used in Yard Skincare products.”
Though Yard Skincare does not post any information regarding their certifications, the beauty brand is found on the cruelty-free list of Beauty Without Bunnies Program. The global program, which was created by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), defines cruelty free companies or brands as those “that have verified that they and their suppliers do not conduct, commission, pay for, or allow any tests on animals for their ingredients, formulations, or finished products anywhere in the world and that they will never do so in the future.” On the other hand, “cruelty free and vegan” is defined as “companies and brands that meet the same requirements and whose entire product line is free of animal-derived ingredients.”
Since Yard Skincare complies with both standards set by PETA, they are considered “cruelty free and vegan” even if they do not actively use the organisation’s logo on their website or packaging. Check out their website to try their certified cruelty free and vegan products. You can also discover more cruelty free brands from our blog.
