Is Live Native Cruelty Free?

Yes, Live Native is cruelty free.

Founded by Ian and Vicky Ewbank in Scotland, Live Native produces a premium range of organic and vegan skin products meant to restore the skin’s natural vitality. Vicky shares her story towards sustainable health and well-being, which included choosing to adopt a vegan diet and saying goodbye to harmful products. “It made little sense then to use popular products that had been manufactured in a conventional and more often toxic manner. Combining fragile heat-damageable oils with water and alcohol, and then ‘embalming’ them with petrochemical-derived emulsifiers, detergents, and preservatives is by no means a recipe for healthy skin. I thought it was time for a paradigm shift in the skincare industry.”

Since 2007, the self-funded company has reached out to clients, salons, and spas around the world to sell their cold-pressed and toxin-free products. Catering to both men and women, their ingredients include carefully selected tropical oils and mineral-rich living plant extracts. More importantly, they share that “no animal products or animal testing, mineral oils, hydrogenated oils, colourings, phthalates, preservatives, parabens or petroleum by-products, alcohol or unnatural stabilisers are used in any Live Native product.”

Live Native displays the Vegan Society trademark on its website, proving that they have certified vegan products. Though they do not mention People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on their official website, their name can be found on PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies list as a certified animal-test free and vegan brand. This implies that Live Native refrains from using animal-derived ingredients and avoids testing their ingredients, formulations, and products on animals anywhere in the world.
