Is Glade Cruelty Free?

Is Glade Cruelty Free?

The short answer: No, Glade is not cruelty free.

The long answer: Created by SC Johnson, Glade is an American brand of household air fresheners. It was first introduced in the US market in 1956, producing fresheners in various formats including aerosol sprays, candles, and plug-ins.

Glade’s US website does not disclose its animal testing policy. Similarly, its parent company’s website does not reveal anything related to cruelty free practices on its FAQs page. Additionally, both PETA and Cruelty Free Kitty consider Glade as a brand that tests on animals. This may be due to the fact that Glade is sold in China, a country known for requiring imported products to be tested on animals. Because of the facts presented, Glade cannot be called cruelty free.
